Football Expert Sutton Takes On Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

The Gunners' 10-game winning streak was ended by the Black Cats before the international hiatus, but can the Premier League leaders bounce back against local foes Spurs this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of guests.

In the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's new record, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Soccer and Parenting Life

Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a featured player of several Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not planning a serious return as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a benefit game the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or son decides to play instead."

Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.

"I won't push football on our children but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their weekend football team," he said.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our side for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to be patient for their star's comeback from injury but their attack is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this fixture will be fairly close, though. Burnley are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

It suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

Olly's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two games - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they appear strong again.

The Hammers' sole away win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest manager.

So, what on earth do I predict here - will it be the Hammers extending their run under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?

I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the season started, but they have surprised a several people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their last four matches.

My son told me to get Bees striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will probably score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.

They have not had much fortune on the road this season, and the Seagulls are always decent at home. The visitors will try to attack on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a threat.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

Olly's prediction: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually turns out to be rather close. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.

They have got plenty of quality in their team but it still feels like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.

The away side's performance in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not seen anyone else rough up the North London side like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing would be to support the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the end of October.

However I am not choose that. Instead, I really need to continue going against the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive results because they evidently love to prove me wrong.

Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the only team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be absolutely eager for a positive result, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a poor streak... but they have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard one to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but might they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
