Dive Into this Remastered Legendary Journey: A Free Trial for DQ7 Reimagined Debuts Shortly.

Fans looking forward to the release of Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined don't need to wait too much longer. A highly anticipated demo version is set to release on January 7th, offering a sizable glimpse into the game's opening hours. Notably, all advancement earned within this demo can be imported directly into the main game upon its eventual release.

Beyond Just a Straightforward Re-release: A Complete Transformation

This project is a from-scratch re-envisioning of the iconic year 2000 role-playing game, initially known as Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past. In a distinct departure from other series re-releases, such as the previously launched HD-2D iterations, this version adopts a unique 3D aesthetic. Environments appear to resemble detailed model sets, with characters featuring a whimsical chibi-esque appearance.

"Taking into account the 3DS port, the story was remained notoriously extended. Therefore, we came to a determination that we wanted to tighten the story, [and] craft an experience for today's gamers."

Significant Mechanical Enhancements and Modernizations

The creators has implemented several changes to streamline the classic experience. This encompasses:

  • Expedited Overworld Encounters: Taking a cue from modern RPGs, weaker foes are now defeated instantly on the overworld map eliminating the need for initiating a separate traditional battle screen.
  • Adjustable Battle Pace: Players can accelerate battle sequences to rapidly power through simpler encounters.
  • New Job System: One brand new job class was introduced for this reimagining. Additionally, party members now have the capacity to master a secondary job, greatly expanding strategic options.

Such refinements seek to tackle a key the 2000 game's most noted points of feedback: its considerable playtime. That original storyline was known to require more than 100 hours to finish. The new version has been expressly reworked to improve pacing and cut down on perceived repetition.
