David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.
Prolific writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, the company has said.
A representative for the firm said: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the conclusion was reached following an review of reports of questionable actions directed at women.
The publisher declined to specify the motivations for this action, stating: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."
A Highly Successful Writing Journey
Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies worldwide in five dozen languages.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
Several of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.
To date, he has released more than 40 books altogether, encompassing a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins this past October.
A Dual Career
His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
